The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), represented by the Dean of AASTMT College of International Transport and Logistics (AASTMT), Dr. Sarah Al-Gazzar, signed a cooperation agreement with the International Halal Academy represented by the Director of International Relations at AASTMT Tamer Mansour, at the headquarters of the Union of Arab Chambers in Beirut.
Tamer Mansour spoke about the importance of the agreement, saying that it aims to develop relations between Brazil and Arab countries, helping companies and students to benefit from the services provided by the International Halal Academy in the field of "halal logistics".
He pointed out that "this is a new area that we are working on, given that Brazil is one of the largest exporters of halal products in the world, especially meat and poultry, and we found in this an opportunity to sign an agreement with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), in order to establish some training and qualification programs, both for interested companies and for students who have the potential to be pioneers in this field."
"The agreement takes into account the consumer requirements of halal products, so the choice for us, as a global halal academy, was to sign the agreement with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, as we at the academy have long experience in the field of halal logistics and contributed to qualifying more than 200,000 people inside Brazil in the field of halal training, whether at the logistical level or in the field of leadership, in order to create a system to strengthen Arab companies in cooperation with the Arab Academy, in order to provide market requirements and thus Access to new markets around the world, whether European, Asian or African markets, where the global market size exceeds 1.3 billion people."
For her part, Dr. Sarah Al-Gazzar noted that "the Academy serves 22 Arab countries, whether in the field of consulting, training or education, and therefore one of the most important things that the Academy focuses on is the international transport and logistics sector, as most of the Arab countries or served by the Academy are countries subject to halal logistics, and therefore the thought of halal logistics has become an existing thought in the Arab world, hence the importance of signing this agreement in order to promote the idea of halal logistics and mechanisms Dealing with halal products as required and according to halal transportation and trading operations. Therefore, it was required to introduce some training programs and some qualification programs for companies that trade in this field, especially production companies, transport companies, storage and packaging companies, as well as students studying in the field of logistics and transport, in order to help them on how to deal with halal logistics, and therefore since Brazil is one of the leading countries in the field of halal logistics, the idea of signing the agreement came in order to enhance cooperation in the field of transferring expertise in this field, and therefore the training and qualification programs will be The introduction is programs that provide mechanisms for dealing in halal logistics, whether in production, storage, trading, or even monitoring operations later."
She considered that "the Arab private sector is always the umbrella on which we rely to achieve the desired goals, and we in the Academy always rely on the Arab private sector with regard to its needs for training and rehabilitation programs, and recently the Arab private sector has begun to shed more light on the issue of halal logistics, which has become a major requirement for many Arab countries, not only in the framework of food products, meat and poultry, but also extended to a broader and more comprehensive framework such as halal tourism, and therefore many conferences Which is now held by the Union of Arab Chambers and the private sector focuses on the aspect related to halal logistics, in the context of raising the level and efficiency of the subject of halal logistics."
